Today is Friday the 13th.   My Grandmother loved friday the 13th, and claimed she was born on Friday the 13th.  We were never exactly sure which year she was born for certain, though as best we knew it was 1908, so that would make that a little bit of fiction.  Records back then weren't quite as accurate though, and if she'd been born the year before in 1907, then it would be true.   Fact is, we'll never know.  But what that means to me is that she was never afraid of Friday the 13th, and was pretty much fond of anything to do with the number 13, since December 13th was her birthday.  (Coincidentally, it so happens that is also the Little Man's birthday.)    Now growing up, I would hardly say I wasn't superstitious, but due to her influence, this was one superstition that passed me by.   (I always think there's just a small bit of OCD in being a youth, things you do then that don't typically carry over into adult-hood.  Like not stepping on lines, or walking home only on curbs, you know the stuff.)  Anyone out there grow up with a touch of extra paranoia on Friday the 13th?

In other news, it appears that the Little Man's two upper teeth are just starting to come in, so that brings his number to four.

Writing is progressing slowly.  A bit too slowly for my taste, but there just doesn't seem to be much I can do about it at the moment.  I do need to finish up two more pieces I've got in near finished form, and get them out the door.  Stories that sit on shelves do not sell themselves.

Yes, I'm buying in to all the Harry Potter hype.  Book 7 is on reserve, and the Lovely Wife will be picking it up next weekend.  She'll get first crack at it because, well, she's the one that started reading the series first anyway.  And she always gets first crack at them.  And she's has probably a bit more opportunity to read (though certainly spread out in small nuggets throughout the day.)  And probably most importantly, she reads about three to four times faster than I do.  [Okay, the real important reason is because I love her, and would always give her first dibs.  No, I'm not just saying that so as not to get in trouble, neither. ;) ]  We're also in the process of figuring out how to get out to see the next HP movie.  Order of the Phoenix was hands down my favorite of the books (so far.)  My niece vehemently disagrees.  But she can get her own blog and complain about it.

Oh yeah, almost forgot.  The Fearless Mop somehow hurt his leg.  He just started limping this morning, and I don't know why.  Took him to the vet, and the vet isn't sure either, though the news was good that all ready he appears to be getting better.  So he's on bed rest through monday.   Yeah, bed rest for a 18 month old dog.  That's easy.  Hopefully all will be well.

And I think that's it for the day.
