What? You didn't even know we were gone?
Well, that's because we went up to Vermont to attend the Lovely Wife's Uncle's surprise birthday party. While I'm about 99.99% sure that her uncle has no clue that I have a blog, forget about figuring out where that blog might be on the internet, I refrained from mentioning anything on that minuscule chance I'd be the one to let something out of the bag.
As far as surprises go, it was a complete and total success. He had no idea. We didn't get to spend enough time at the party itself, because the Little Man could only stay up so late, and he did so like a trooper. Once we saw the warning signs of an impending implosion, we headed back to the hotel. We did get to spend some nice time at her Aunt and Uncle's new (ish) apartment in downtown Burlington. And got to see more of the family and friends. A great little trip, and all things considered, the Little Man weathered the long car ride up and back, as well as the somewhat odd hours. Of course, he got to go swimming in the hotel pool a few times, which is always his favorite thing. We might have spawned some sort of merman.
During the trip, I managed to read two and a half books on the Kindle. Um....awesome. Flexible text sizing to keep up with the current lighting conditions is just awesome. Will give a more formal review on it soon.
