I want to take this moment, to thank all the poll workers through out our country.  A democracy cannot work, without these people who staff the system, and make it feasible for the rest of us to vote.   I encourage people to thank the poll workers today when you go out and vote, because with record turnouts country wide, these people will be working extra hard this year.

To those of you who vote today.  Thank you.  Democracy happens because people like you and me go out and cast ballots.  If you have not voted yet, please: go vote.  I make no attempt to sway people which way to vote.  Frankly I think most of you know which way you intend to vote by now anyway.  I only ask that you go out and vote.  Partisan people might consider me a fool, but I think our democracy works best, and right when we all go out and make our voices heard.  Let us have a strong and healthy democracy.  Don't let the polls or the pundits make you believe that you do not matter.  Never forget, we grant the power to our government.  By voting, we allow them to take charge.  Let us not do so in tacit silence.  Let us all speak out our minds by casting ballots that let the politicians know that we care, that we will stand up and be counted.

To quote my good friend, [livejournal.com profile] greatscott66 : "So drive, ride, walk, fly, transport yourself by whatever means necessary, get to your polling place on November 4th, and vote."
