Today, is World Wide Dungeons and Dragons Game Day.

Yesterday, D&D's Fourth Edition was released, and I'm off to pick up the books that I pre-ordered from my friends at The Gamers Gambit where I will be joining in the festivities.  Gamers around the world are encouraged to make an extra effort today to gather, and play D&D.  Many local gaming stores will be hosting events.  Today is a day to wield your imagination and your dice with good friends, food and drink.   It's a day to be in community, and know that around the world, millions of others are also participating.  Go forth, and vanquish!

Let me know what you think of the 4th edition. Personally, I think I've decided to stick with 3.5 and house rules, until they go to version 5. I'm getting tired of buying a whole set of new books every few years.

Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to play D&D yesterday. I worked, and then took my angel for the first "swim."

Hope you had a great time.

4.0 is quite different. It's not different like 3.5 was from 3, it's really different. Many changes, I like. Others still take some time to get used to. But overall, it's kind of fun. The quote that one of the betatesters used that I find I can agree with: "more stabbity!"

The one challenge I see, is if you run a long standing game, with lots of history, etc, then this might be a very hard transition to make. If you play D&D their way, short campaigns that the characters advance quickly then end, then transitioning isn't as hard.

Yay swimming. The Little Man went swimming in his grandparents pool yesterday while I was off slaying monsters. He loves to swim.
