Two spanking new servers have arrived for me to configure.  :)
Any day I get to actually put physical things together is a good day to me.

I've had two vendors this week, and I got to use my favorite phrase with them.  :)
And they were actually rather informative about products, stuff we might end up even using, how about that?

Lastly, for no apparent reason, stuck in my head has been: "The Early Morning Singing Song."  You know the one, with the line something like:  Ooba daba dooby, nooba naba nooby.   I've no idea why this song is in my head.  I haven't heard it recently.  It's not particularly a favorite.  I don't know who performs it, but it feels like ABBA or something like that.   Somewhere in my hind-brain, I must be channeling Lite FM, from all those years in retail that I try desperately to forget about.

Despite the ridiculously upbeat song stuck in my head, I'm feeling under the weather, and finding it hard to concentrate.  Which couldn't be worse timing, because I've got a hard deadline coming up that I need to meet.

That's "Good Morning, Starshine" from HAIR. Oliver performed it, among others.

Great. Now the song's in MY head. :)

Okay, I refuse to let that song become an earwig for me.

You mean you get to physically assemble a couple of servers at last? Yes, physically assembling computers is a whole different order of challenge from operating them. And very fun to boot. ;)

Yes. And they are the wild new kind, where the CPUs don't have any pins! Instead of plugging them into a socket like the old style, these sit on a "bed of nails" and get locked into place. First time I got one of these, I was by myself in the office, as the other hardware guys were all off on a trip. I couldn't quite fathom how a flat chip was going to work. I thought it was either a defect, or a joke or something. But nope. That's the new style CPU.

Boy. I haven't seen that kind of connector yet. But it's sure going to be quite a spiritual experience...
