As I understand it, the iPads the have GSM capability are unlocked. Which means you can take them to any provider. However, AT&T already has a plan setup for them, and so it will be easy to work with them.
And yeah, I think you're right, about it possibly being a DX killer--IF Amazon doesn't start to seriously drop the DX price. Right now they are in the same basic price point. That leaves the DX quite vulnerable. If Amazon can make a major price drop in the near future, bring that device under $400, preferably to the $350 mark or so, I think that keeps it on life support. But overall, the DX hasn't had the same positive reviews as the K2. And with the latest service pack on the K2, there aren't many features of the DX it doesn't have except for the screen size.
Which reminds me, if you have a new K2 Scott, and you can't read PDFs or change the screen orientation (Manually, not automagically via accelerometer) then you need to download and apply the latest update.
