Out the door

After a short initial bout of, aw shucks, I kicked myself into action.   Off I went to the local store, that my friend Kendall will give me a hard time about giving my business, and picked up large mailer envelopes.  Back at home, I printed out some labels, a fresh copy, wrote up a new cover, and put on my postage.   It was then, I realized I didn't have any more paperclips.  No, couldn't have figured that one out before I went to the store, could I?

Thankfully, my wife needed me to drop off something to her at work (her first day back on the job since having the Little Man, yay!) and I was able to procure a paperclip.  So, the manuscript is on its way to the next market.  And now I know why I need more stories.  Because this whole drama could have waited a day or two, and if I had more stories out there, I'd probably be a tad less frenetic about it.

I only needed the one at the moment. I'll eventually hit a store and buy a couple boxes. I just needed the one to get the submission out the door. I wasn't in the mood to let excuses delay me. Especially since I knew I wouldn't be home for the next few days.
