When I got home and listened to the messages on the answering machine, we had another one of those ads to try to get us to "act now" to get some sort of better deal on our mortgage.  Personally, I'm amused when they mention the "great new low rate" that is at least a full percentage point above what we currently have on ours.  But, okay, these automated phone calls aren't going to figure that out.  What I really found amusing was the wording at the end of this one.  I'll try to give it as close to the message as I can:

"So please consider this your final notice.  Press 1 to speak to an operator about lowering your rate.  Or press 2 to discontinue further notices."

Okay, is it just me?  Or if I'm supposed to consider something my final notice, why would I need to press 2 to discontinue further notices? Doesn't final notice imply that there won't be any more?
