This morning during my morning commute I had an encounter with a Borg cube. I hadn't realized I had somehow drifted into the Star Trek universe, but I guess sometimes these things just happen.
Apparently, the early form of the Borg cube is a large tan Ford Expedition, with a license plate reading "THE BORG". It was satisfying to note as I passed this precursor to the universe's most dangerous opponent, that at the wheel was a "Borg Queen." I was expecting a typical done, the type of geek you might expect to drive a vehicle with such a license plate. About the only thing that would have made me laugh more, would have been the same license plate on a HUMMER.
I guess it's possible that the license plate doesn't refer to Trek at all. It could be someone's last name: Theborg. It's not completely out of the question. But I kind of doubt it.
