That loud SQUEE you just heard for the past few hours, was millions of fans around the world finding out that Peter Jackson and New Line have resolved their differences, and that PJ et. al. will be making the movie The Hobbit.

Well, actually two movies.

Yeah. From what I hear, it's supposed to be The Hobbit, and then a sort of unknown work that is intended to bridge the gap between The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.

Um...don't actually recall that story. Perhaps they intend to redact if from JRRT's notes? Or Christopher is planning to put something else out? Hmm...that reminds me, I should really pick up Children of Hurin one of these days. A self professed fan should probably own and read that. I think I'll wait for the next big coupon.
