The PC that I recently told you had taken a hit during the storm and was gone. Appears I was mistaken. It merely took a vacation.
As I was passing through the basement on another errand, I hit the power button for the PC on a whim. Sure enough, the darn thing decided to boot up. No idea why, but then, I don't exactly know why it hadn't before, so I'm no closer to knowing what's up with that PC than I was before. But it's up and running. Which means, I don't have to think about a new desktop for the moment. Since I didn't expect to want to spend the cash on a new desktop right now, that's fine. More importantly, it frees me up to concentrate on other concerns, of which I have plenty to spare.
