Arrived safe and sound at the convention after a long day's travel.
No, not a writing convention. A tech convention. Lotusphere to be specific. Ran into some good folks pretty soon after arrival. There shoudl be some good sessions in store as they will be demoing a lot of R8.5 stuff. Always manage to learn some neat stuff here, which is why I like taking the time out to attend. It will be quite a contrast to be part of a mutli-thousand person conference again, after the writing conferences I've attended in the past year, which were an order of magnitude smaller. Still, I anticipate this being as energizing and absorbing in its own way, though for a different part of my career path than the SF cons.
I suspect, though, that I'll come home with decidedly less in the way of books. Lots of marketing swag, sure, but novels? Not so much.
