So, due to a confluence of circumstances, it seems that Boskone will not be in the works for me this year.   I'd been holding out hope for a while, thinking that there was going to be some last minute save....but it's just not going to happen.  I'm letting it go.  There will be more conventions.   There will be more Boskones.   I was hoping to get to see many friends at this event.  But, alas, it shall have to wait for the next time.

I'm not certain if there are any conventions in the works for me for the rest of the year, Readercon....I'd really enjoy but is likely a challenge for many similar reasons.  Perhaps Philcon again in the fall.

To everyone who is going: have a fantastic, fun filled convention!

Wah! I was looking forward to seeing you there.

Next year, my friend.

:(

I was so looking forward to hearing another reading. For now, I'll hold out hope that I can manage Readercon. The timing will be tricky, but I cling to hope that things will work out.

Aw :( I'll miss getting to meet you.

Oh, well, here's to next year.

what's the hold-up?

I'm driving up on Friday afternoon from New Jersey (Newark, to be precise). Probably coming back Sunday night, but I'm staying with a friend and can't offer a floor that isn't mine.

If travel is the problem - I can take a passenger.

It's a number of things. The actual travel aspect itself is probably the least of them. (Driving up to Boston is long, but I did it for Readercon last summer, so I know what to expect.)

Not insignificant, is looking over the finances, which have crept in that petty pace, day to day, and managed to be higher than originally anticipated. But there are sufficient other concerns as well, as to have had to make the conscientous decision: it's a no go this year. (And I truly hope that is true, that it will be a pass for this year only.)

Thanks for the offer of a ride.
